Ethiopians greatness is on the road…
Let’s take a break from the toxic Daisopra politics and celebrate this victory..
I wish Ethiopian government arrange a patriotic reception of Ethiopian football team victory…
What would an Eritrea media, ESAT feel like about this victory…
Oops Andargachew and sisay Agena were telling us Isayas Afeworking was gods of the gods for Ethiopian democracy and freedom…
These two chuvinistic Amharas have no clue how Isayas and few Eritreans are too the worst degrade Amharas…
Shame on you, you don’t have respect for yourselves….
Do you know the nick name Eriteras use to call Amharas….I won’t repeat it here
But you still prefer to lick Isayas ass..

    Congrat Dawit!
This is what Ethiopia is and need to be!
    Congrat to all of us!
Sis eden, you started it well, but all of a sudden you mixed things yourself!
Pls you woyane cadres donot mix things! happenies with politics for example!
Do not use everything for propagating your politics.
Stop this ills ideology of using everything for meles.
Let us use everything for Ethiopia and Ethiopians. That will make us one.
By the way many including me are again started to develop fear of posting on AWTs, after we heard woyane is buying and using german made techs to spy us. Though we knew it before, the news we heard on DW made us even worried us most!
You woyane cadres can imagine how many million and may be billion dollar that poor country is investing to buy such machines to scrutinize its poor people!
That amount could have finished the Dam the government force us to pay when our own life is far in shortfall.
Esti beadisue amet Fetari libe yesetachehu. Legna lemantem, amen.

If foot ball player is playing foot ball, the engineer is construction bridges, road dams etc..; the human /animal doctor treat people and livestock respectively; the economist working hard how our economy improved; the psychiatrist treat mentally ill patients (some times politicians too);etc.. etc.. Ethiopia would have been in a better place at this time.
The 50’s and 60’s foot ball era is coming back again in Ethiopia. God bless our foot ball players who gave us this happiness by weaning CAR. A new generation who pursue their dream is rising in Ethiopia! The old ” Do nothing ideologues” is perishing gradually. I hope Ethiopia will get peace after that.

@w.yilma ..nice comment but bad conclution! We aren’t new & old ethiopian,we r all Ethiopians! We are who we r today because of our long long history of nation building. Ethiopia isn’t and willn’t be a nation of one generation. As any nation in the world,we have the good and the bad side yesterday, today & tomorrow. However,it is totaly ignorant to disregard the role of our forfathers who passes a nation at least ahead of other african nations during their time. Respect! Love all Ethiopian though u have any political disagrement! After all,it is politics men!

Aster. Thanks for your comment. I hate to reply but let me clear my stand on this. If you stick with your criticism good. What I want to say is that I am a critic for the generation of the 60’s and 70’s. I am a product of that generation. I still believe that the majority of that generation is a source of problem for our country. Still that generation is a chronic and even a danger for our country today. Sorry for generalizing, but this is a realty! Other than this I do not mean I condemn the generation beyond or after.
Last, I have a respect for those who pay scarifies to keep our country free from colonialism. What is sad though is that those who paid sacrifice do not demand from their country to get advantages. On the contrary, the generation of the 60’s and 70’s not only demand, but stand against their country. I think the evidence is what we have seeing every day, especially in Diaspora. If you are not agree with me let’s keep our differences and move forward.

I am very proud of the team for what it has accomplished so far. Those kids have played their guts out to reach at where they are now. But their next potential opponents are more sophisticated and ‘battle hardened’ than the teams they played so far. Now I am getting very nervous. If they face Cape Verde next then they may have the shot but if they are going to go against Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal or any one of the North African countries then I will be in a heck of nervousness. Again, I am proud of those kids but I am worried about their next matches. The flashbacks from the 1965 and 1970 African Cup results still haunt me. In the meantime, I will continue to have them in my prayers. Insha Allah!!!!

I think politics and football are different things. Every one is happy for Waliya’s victory. Lets entertain other issues in different stages.

Lets continue celebrate the victory with upcoming new year.
