    RIP

May his family get strength in this difficult times specially his two grand daughters and his son that stayed by his side until pronounced dead in Thailand.

Alemayehu has been replaced by Muktar Kedir, Minister of the Civil Service & Good Governance Reform Cluster, in both posts as Chairperson of the OPDO and President of the Oromia Region.

The Chinese-educated President Alemayehu Atomsa had not previously received the consent of his Party to step down, although he had tendered his resignation on several occasions.

It has been less than two weeks since he resigned from his post.

Our heart goes to the family and friends of the fallen man. Oromos remember Mr Alemayehu as a man who furthered the interests of the TPLF in mobilizing Oromo resources to enrich the business Empire of the latter, rather than someone who fought for justice, humanity, freedom and democracy. Prior to his resignation from the OPDO central Committe, I read a piece on the Govt propoganda mouth piece, the Reporter, that the Former President of the Oromia Regional State wrote to Former TPLF strong man, Colonel Zenawi, seeking his blessing to resign from the Party’s Chairmanship and the Oromia Regional Presidency. One may wonder why he should do that, as Colonel Zenawi, much as he was a de facto leader of the TPLF and EPRDF– -was not a member of OPDO and OPDO’s marriage with the TPLF was only on grounds of forming a Coalition with their TPLF friends. But that letter was a testament to OLF inference that OPDO was a black stain in the conscience of Oromo Nationalism and its members are none other than traitors who sold the Conscience of the Oromo people for a price not more than collecting TPLF leftovers. General Abadula Gemeda, now Speaker of the EPRDF National Assembly, declares the National Flag and all Regional Flags to fly at Half mast—and had the gut to tell Ethiopians that they needed to mourn a hero who fought for the freedom, democracy, equality and peace of the Oromo people. Oromos are proud people with a very rich history, rich culture, friendly to all and above all very patient— and so far have rejected to deny their identity regardless of the heavy price they have paid for freedom, equality, peace, self governance and democracy. History has been crystal clear that just in the last century, the World had faced an evil in the form of Communism and if the Soviets had not understood that its might would be confronted by that of the Free world, it could have triumphed despite what was right—but ultimately it was defeated by the strength of a sacred idea: human freedom. It is this sacred idea that Mr Alemayehu and his friends sold for TPLF leftovers and if one asks me what Mr Alemayehu’s legacy is, I am not afraid to proudly say it is nothing more than serving his belly at the expense of serving his people.

May his family find the strength at the lose of this humble and hero. He worked hard to realize growth and development and a better life for millions of Ethiopians. As usual, the ignorant, self appointed, self important, self centered and hateful ‘opposition’ members are showing their true colors but the struggle for the people goes on. Because one hero passes he is replaces by thousands.
