    Keep it Up Awramba Times

Good journalistic practice is based on the public’s right to have access to facts and … and obtain information by means that deviate from standard practice.

  2. Retta M.,PHD says:

What kind of sane person cannot be outraged when watching this replay of a Nazi pogrom that targeted an Amara ethnic (ex-Benishangul Gumuz natives)group who were literally frog-marched and, in the words of the victims themselves, told to go to “their country” and “wherever their ancestors were born”? What do you feel when you are told this nonsense in your own country, the country your fathers and forefathers defended and died for? The victimized ethnic Amaras (ex-Benishangul Gumuz natives) were beaten, violently dragged off their homes and forced to pay for the trucks that packed them inhumanely, similar if not worse to what the Saudi Arabians did to Ethiopians in saudi Arabia, because the Amaras are not thrustworthy to reside near this dam which put Ethiopia’s future in the hands of the mercy of South Sudan and Egypt’s leaders. As if we did not have enough enemies in the region already we are adding more enemies. Eritrea, al-Shabab, Saudi , and now because of this dam South Sudan and Egypt. The lack of Ethiopia’s coward government diplomatic skills is currently destroying the peace of the region.

    • Yohannes says:

So called Retta by the look of your comment you are definately not Ethiopian. You are perhaps an Egyptian. Go and sort of your political mess. Yes the Ethiopian government is still authoritarian; still imprisons innocent citizens and still need to work on rein on ethnic tension, but you should know that we are behind the government on the DAM. In case you don’t know our history we may fight among ourselves but we are one & united on a national project, wether that is defending the mother land or supporting matters that matter for Ethiopia.

Auramba times, I admire your fair and impartial way of providing news to your followers. Keep up the good job. We need this kind of journalism in Ethiopia.

EPRDF has shown it’s leadership role in the past 23 years despite the hurdles, which it was encountering. It has been so successful so far, I hope it will in the future too.

The Renaissance Dam will take the big part in it’s endeavor. This Dam has revealed the true picture of the opposition groups. People have been forced to see the tendency of the opposition groups. When they are standing, on the other end with Egypt and Eritrea. When those opposition come to their senses it might be too late. Helping the Renaissance dam doesn’t mean helping EPRDF if they have brain. It means helping themselves to lay stone in the heart of the people, who they said, fighting for. 90% of the population is behind this Dam, by supporting with his money, labor most of all moral. I watched this event on ETV, and I was overwhelmed by the ceremony and the progress they made. I was crying with the warm feeling that, I had in mind. That’s why I switched my cable service provider, to comcast from Verizon. I will have headache if I don’t watch ETV ones a day. THANK U EPRDF. YOU GUYS CAME FOR THE RENAISSANCE FOR ETHIOPIA.LONG LIVE FOR YOU.

What the heck: the leadership looks somber. It is like they are overburdened and present in body only. No one dancing with the pretty little thing. She was all smiles but standing alone. She made the video worthwhile. Why is the leadership unnecessarily so weary?

As a political junky and self-proclaimed analyst, I have said that Hailemariam and Debretsion (in that order for the forseable future)are doing a fine job leading the multiple infrastructure projects.

How about the ministry of information? We have moved from one that will create a god out of meles, to another who sends out an interviwer that sleeps on the job. Or one who marginalized a PM by scheduling a 30min interview on cobble stone. The public face of Hailemariam and Debretsion needs to be managed and managed more intensively than meles. I am not sure if that is clear to the ministry of information. The PM and VPM are delivering substance all around, they will be focusing on much finer details if the minster of information can’t deliver the political air, and actually damages it, then may be there is a misunderstanding. Last week was actually contempt if not borderline seditious.

When the editor of Awramba Times (AT) went back to Ethiopia from the USA, some said “AT became Woyane”. Others said “AT was already Woyane from the beginning.”

I said, I will judge after seeing what AT is going to report from Ethiopia. And from what I am seeing AT is becoming a balanced and serious news source. I sense a sense of seriousness in what AT is doing. I hope you will continue this way and make more progress. My only suggestion is this: Please use as much text as possible together with the video clips you are posting. A short description (a few paragraphs) of your trip to this event would have been much informative. For example, where exactly is Guba in relation to GERD? why is the ceremony held there? What do the residents of Guba think of the event and the GERD? etc could have made a good story.

    Maybe next time..

    Anyways, thanks for sharing.

When anyone criticize the pseudo politically motivated project, the new woyane loyalists song is to label as “Shabia” and “Egyptian”….kkkkkk….. as we all know, Egypt was the main financier of woyane and Shabiya was the god father who was in charge of heavy weaponry until 4 kilo….so, woyane is very close for Shabiya and Egypt than the opposition ….by the way, the regime already awarded the biggest gold mining field for the Egyptian company.….kkkkk…….that’s how woyane operates. As long as they see it fits their filthy interest….who cares about the country??……
Let me ask some simple questions about the dam you’re crocodile tearing,
    1. Why it’s awarded to Salini without any legal auction process? ( just for the record, Salini has a history of collaborating in dismantling the very machinery they installed and transferred to woyane and Shabia from Metekel….there are living witness for this crime)
    2. How Messobe cement factory becomes the sole provider of cement for the dam?
    3. Why the subcontractors, including machinery supply, are EFFORT connected companies ?
    4. Why and how the location was chosen …..it’s proximity to the Sudanese boarder ?….(it’s within 45 kms radius…..disregarding it’s low level which makes any possible future irrigation almost impossible or very costly )
    5. Knowing the GDP of country and the fake 12%, how the regime planned initially to finance it ?(or forceful extortion and propaganda consumption was the plan?)
    5. Are there non-Ethiopian stake holders ?….if so, why it’s a secret ?
I can go on…..cadres or wanna be cadre please answer them accordingly….even by consulting your “ternafi”…..lol
To reiterate what I said, no Ethiopian disapprove the country’s development…..but, FREEDOM takes the precedence…….FREE Wubeshet, Eskinder, Reyoot, Lelisa, Bekele …..and tens of thousands of citizens languishing in a brutal prisons……..STOP creating ethnic and religion division……stop snatching from the poor’s mouth…..
Ke abay befit …yr hizb enba yegedeb !!!!!!!…..spinning in the disguise of pseudo projects will never add up….God bless Ethiopia !!!!!….haters, looters and racists are doomed !!

I donot reply to all your crap. In the first place you are not ready to accept any of my arguments though they are Cristal clear. Your mind is brainwashed by propaganda machines to the point of no return. your Interhamwe style of thinking will consume you…no body else.
Besides the Dam is under construction for 90million people Ethiopians, NOT for individuals like you and your likes. Eskindir Nega…bla bla. Eskindir Nega is Nazist. he was halocust glorifier. Actually you do not feel the pain of all Ethiopians. you only cry foul if someone Amara is mistreated. U never care about other Ethiopians. U stupid as hypocrite.Ethiopians are financing the dam…this is a nightmare for you…A$$-hole. gena mnun ayteh tiqatelaleh! There is no place for Interhamwe ANYMORE. NEVER AGAIN!!. You cry fool for ever. i wish i could run over you with one of the EFFORT machinery…azimam. enkrdad. what a sick mentality!

    • Tesfalehulum says:

      duba,

If it’s a crap and easy, why you didn’t answer one of the more than six questions I’ve raised??…….so, who is the crap???….kkkkkk….I know that you and your likes are incompetent to tackle my comments….you’re my toys…..by the way, why you didn’t consult your “ternafi”??…..kkkkkkkk
Your comment is just full of trash….it shows how much knuckle head and idiots are Woyane supporters….kkkk…..know that I can trash you with better words….but I don’t want to sink low like you…..all the words you used reflects who you are…..and I really don’t care about old trash bag in terminal stage…….kkkkkkkk….hahahahaha

THERE IS NO ETHIOPIA ANYMORE. FEW ELITES EAT 33 TIMES A DAY WHILE OTHERS BARELY AFFORD A BITE A DAY . THIS NOT PROPORTIONAL LIVING CONDITIONS IS FORCING MANY TO CONCLUDE THERE IS NO ONE ETHIOPIA ANYMORE . IF EGYPT FIGHTS IT IS FIGHTING THE ELITE’S POTENTIAL CASH COW DAM. THE REST OF ETHIOPIANS ARE NOT IN ANY WAY GOING TO BE AFFECTED BY EGYPT’S ATTACK. IF ANYTHING EGYPT MIGHT BRING JUSTICE IN ETHIOPIA. REVENGE IS BEST SERVED COLD. WE WILL SEE THE NEXT THREE GENERATIONS OF THESE VOULCHERS SUFFER FOR WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO US NOW. EGYPT’S ATTACK IS THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG THE ELITES ARE HEADING TOWARDS.
