Woyane and its foot soldiers “duket teshekami”‘are in full gear to cripple any opposition party that may threaten its existence in the coming the so called election. The recent mass arrest, intimidation and prosecution of opposition members shows how desperate the regime and its MORON crook cadres are. Even they didn’t hesitate to disperse by force the BLUE’s public meeting that they approved earlier….confused and desperate regime!
Even though the environment obviously does not allow for credible election, UDJ may try to go as far as it can. I beleive each step will expose the absolute directorship and fascist face of the regime.
By the way, woyane is the only mafiosis regime in our planet who declared 99% win……kkkkkkk
    God bless Ethiopia!

Be sure peace, unity, respect, understanding and hard work are more than anything else a country like Ethiopia that is on the transforming process needs the most. Any political activity has to respect that and needs to work the best part in order to improve the situation more and more in the future. Clean from the old and backward politic mentalities. Stop copying any political system or activities from other countries that have different society and situation than Ethiopia is. Don’t destroy yourself with the copy and paste political games from abroad. Just create and adopt a home grown political system based on the society, wealth, climate and the overall country situation.

There is no democracy in the west anymore the way they are preaching others to adopt when less than 50% the electorates are participating in elections. Democracy means the majority wins. When the majorities are not participating in Elections, it is the anti Democracy movements winning meaning against the democracy principles. Most EU parliamentarians are elected with less than 50, 40, 30 or even 20 and 10& turnout. Many leaders in Europe especially parliamentarians, mayors, governors and so on are elected with the anti democratic system of election meaning less than 50% turnout. UK conservative party leader is elected with less than 37% of the vote where turnout was less than 50%. That means the UK pm is elected with less than 19 %( 37X50%) of the legible voters. Yet, look at him.

The point is that Ethiopians must not copy any western type of democracy that is putting rich individuals on power with the anti Democracy system of election turnout which is less than 50%. When the minority wins, that has to be the anti democracy system.

Remember: Even calling the word democracy, election, human right including the right of women and minorities and so on are punishable as worse are death sentence, life imprison and so on in the regions where UK, USA and others that are preaching those things in Ethiopia are best friends, allies and making businesses. It is about business and their benefit not about democracy and the benefit of the people in other countries. So, Ethiopia needs her way of political and economic systems working for all her citizens benefit started from having 100% peace, unity and certainty.

Just read what could happen when foreign powers are interfering in the country matters in the name of democracy… and the citizens are accepting that in ways making mistakes based on political differences (reasons) and dancing around politics in the country where the people needs first and for most basic needs, peace and unity. Ethiopia must conduct the most peaceful, independent including from any foreign interference and useful election with goal the country will benefit more as a result.

“Nearly half the children in Yemen are suffering from malnutrition, the agriculture minister has said, as insurgencies, water scarcity and climate change exacerbate sectarian strife in the Arabian Peninsula’s poorest state.
“More than half the population of Yemen suffers from food insecurity… 48 percent of the children suffer from malnutrition,” Agriculture Minister Farid Mujawar told a U.N. conference in Rome on Wednesday.
“We know this challenge of hunger has a major impact on health and education at every stage… it cannot be deemed acceptable.”
As hunger falls globally, Mujawar used the Food and Agriculture Organisation’s second summit on nutrition to ask the international community for more aid.
Short of food, running out of oil and water, Yemen is facing rising political and religious violence, which analysts believe is linked to environmental degradation and growing groups of hungry, angry people with few prospects.
“Environmental breakdown encourages social breakdown,” Mark Katz, a politics professor at George Mason University, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation. “It doesn’t seem that Yemen will be able to turn this around.”
Government revenues from crude oil exports, a key source of financing for the state, dropped almost 35 percent in the first nine months of 2014 to $1.34 billion from $2.04 billion in the same period a year earlier, according to figures released on Monday.
The drop follows months of political turmoil. Shia Muslim Houthi fighters have been in control of the capital, Sanaa, since September and continue to battle Al Qaeda affiliated Sunni tribesmen.
Analysts link the current explosion of unrest to a broader power struggle, with sectarian undertones, between regional powers Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Security officials in the Gulf states accuse Iran of supporting the Houthi fighters, while Saudi Arabia’s monarchy backs Sunni tribes.
Some analysts say environmental factors, compounding food insecurity and poverty, may be playing a larger role in stoking tensions than sectarian struggles in the country of 25.5 million.
Sanaa is expected to be the world’s first capital to run out of water, according to calculations by Robert Sharp from the National Defense University in Washington D.C.
Water scarcity around the country is increasing quickly, in tandem with a rapidly rising population, meaning hunger is likely to worsen.
Yemen’s National Food Security Strategy, set up as a response to a spike in global food prices in 2008, aimed to cut food insecurity by a third by 2015 and to make 90 percent of the population food secure by 2020.
Recent political violence, and dwindling government revenue, mean those targets are unlikely to be met.
“With population growth it has only gotten worse,” said Katz, the politics professor. “This (environmental conflict) is an underlying theme in Yemen.”

I’m proud of MP Girma Seifu explaining his party’s stand very politely ! There is no arre goraw or any kind of hate against any party! This shows that MP Girma has learned a lot & for Ethiopian politics, this is a one step forward! He said “we will work with any party…” That’s all Ethiopia needs, no matter what all political parties to work together !

Alula, well said, I am aways optimistic about the progress of Ethiopia. Honorable Girma Biru is with some of his ups and downs he is an icon on the other side of the Isle. He is goes alone further to speak the truth, but unfortunately the crowd he is in is awkward. He was supposed to be in the side of EPRDF. I can see a lot of potential in him. But they will dump him like Lidetu eventually. So it is better for him to run as independent for the Parliament seat. I like the venue ANDNET has taken.

      • Alula says:

        Beza

You are right! He will be one of the finest politician in Ethiopia!
The problem is, in the opposition side , telling the truth isn’t acceptable , so we can only wish him a good luck! MP Girma Seifu is improving so much! All in all, we can say Ethiopian is on the right track!
        Ethiopia is blessed!

  4. Birru says:

It ‘s a good move and fight in peaceful ways. Those who chose the armed struggles are still in miss and trying to cover up why and how they failed .Peaceful struggle is the only and the last solution for Ethiopia’s problem no more to listen the voice of bullets and arsenals in Ethiopia’s soil.

  5. ethiio says:

If woyane keep arresting opposition leaders and members, what is the use of election? These opposition parties are good for nothing! They never change anything and they will never EVER change anything. Useless people (most of them). they can’t even work together.
