When you write, write sensible, all over the world know Ethiopia refused to give Eritrea land back, who is terrorist know? tell the truth, it is disgusting propaganda.

  3. Lema says:

This has nothing to do with Eritrean Migrants, citizens in Eritrea or anyone belongs to the Issayas Eritrea. It is about the EU and so called west in general interest and agenda in the region.
All the family lines Arab dictators where there is no election, democracy, parliament or even a national constitution like Saudi Arabia, other GCC nations and Jordan are their best friends and allies while others where there is election like Syria, Yemen and Iraq are not.

So, it is not about the Eritreans but their own agenda and interest in the region looking to use another dictator in Eritrea to do the jobs in the region as they are doing in Yemen, Iraq and Syria using the absolute Arab dictators where there are no human rights at all including the rights of females and minorities.

Aye Dawit Woyane, Cry loud, they can’t hear you, Wegin wahid, while Dogs barking, the Camel marching! keep barking.

  5. Hanqual says:

I still don’t understand the point of this article even if one is to assume anything good can come out of Weyane ruled Ethiopia. I live in Eritrea and, I can tell you, life is not as well as it could be. But that is primarily because of the short sighted, misguided and ill-advised US policy towards Eritrea. Why am I not including the obvious, Weyane, in my assertion? Simply I know that Weyane is nothing but a messenger of the powers to be, and thus Weyane will always remain the worst enemy of the Eritrean people, in spite of the crocodile tears it sheds ostensibly because and on behest of the Eritrean people. Little do its crooked heart and twisted mind remember that it was yesterday’s occurrence when it summarily expelled many Eritreans including its citizens from Ethiopia. If Awramba times and other mouth pieces of the TPLF regime believe that Eritreans are going to forget what the Weyanes did to us, well, they may be even dumber than I ever thought.

  6. beka says:

Our brothers and sisters are dying and suffering in Saudi, Kenya, punt land , Yemen, South Africa. …., and u are taking shit about Eritrea which is not our business. European union gives money to Woyane which is the cancer of ethiopia and Africa. What is wrong if they give money to shaebia who are less corrupt than woyanes? I hope some of the money Eritrea gets goes to ginbot7 and demhit. We are fed up with Woyane and their dogs like you and Ben kebede. Shaebia much better than zereja Woyane. Dawit woyanes puppy

  7. Be ewnetu says:

When you play politics, chase and soccer, you have to watch at least 3 directions. and then choose the best one, Iraq shot down 2 British air cargo when they dropping arms at ISIS locations. if you say WHY? you can get at least 3 answers. choose the best one. for EX. if there is no patience/illness the pharmacy business will be slow, if the pharmacy once closed the drug factory is the next…….

  8. Asmara says:

    Dear Awramba,

The dog barks, the camel marches. You keep barking but the truth will come out at last and Eritrea will shine with its great leader President Issayas Afwerki. You might start salivating because you can smell the dollars from Europe as usual. You might start crying, what about us Mr commissioners. We are addicted of this dollars from Europe and America. Please do not give it to Eritrea but give it to us.

  9. Asmara says:

EatPoo starts crying and becomes jelous.

  10. Asmara says:

The country called Eatpoo located at the east of Africa starts salvating as the name Dollar mentioned. kkkkkk

  11. ESAYAS says:

Awramba Times is funded by woyane and anti-Eritrean groups. 100% of its so called news is a lie and everybody knows that.

  12. axumawit says:

Southern European countries are on EU’s neck since the Lambedusa,Italy accident.Well,if this is the answer let them try it.But,one thing is true. The day to stop the suffering of Eritrean is not too long.Yes,shabia knows to survive dark days. But this time the sun rise is for the people, not for those who caused that suffering.Chickens come to home to roost.YANGIZE,where you gonna?king Isayass?call who???

  13. solo says:

Crap and trash note. i don’t even call analysis or news. just toilet paper instead clean your shit house one of the biggest slum village in the world called mama Ethiopia.

  14. axumawit says:

We know Yemen’s problem may spill over to the horn.To stop that danger,Christian, king Isayass may be chosen. The end result may not be better either.

  15. kibrom says:

The Eu aid to such dictator seems give priority to reduce number of refugees rather than concerning for human rights

  16. jumbo says:

Typical slanted Ethiopian article. Whether EU provides aid or not is their choice. Eritreans are not asking for donations/handouts like other countries in the region. They are looking for jobs to support their families back home. Also, national service is limited to 18 months max as prescribed by law, and is not indefinite. This is another deliberate distortion by the Ethio writer with a hidden agenda

The main issue is the illegal 13 year occupation of sovereign Eritrean territories, and the sanctions based on Ethiopian govt propoganda. Of course, articles like this tend to ignore facts and distort and lie. But always know, Eritreans will always fight for justice. History proves this.

  17. Tsehay says:

There are two scenarios the reason why EU/USA are now looking towards another dictator. That could be to use him as they are doing with other absolute dictators in the Middle East or to kill him like what they did to Gaddaffi after approaching him for better relation and he treated them like Children making them sit on the ground in the desert tents and they kissed him including his hands. Do we remember individuals like T. Blair, Brown, H. Clinton, Sarkozy, Berlusconi and many other western high officials in Libya kneeling down for Ghaddafi to get oil and gas contracts? What about the western criminal business empires behavior towards Gaddafi such as BP, Shell, Total, A, Mobile and others?

But when he decided and determined to keep the Libyan wealth under the Libyan people, didn’t allow any foreign nation to dictate or interfere in the Libyan affairs and trying to bring and impose the unaccepted western so called values that are not looking like coming from normal human beings and most importantly when he decided to create an African currency with Gold value and use that money to challenge other none African currencies in Africa such as USD and EU, then they killed him and destroyed Libya the way we see today. They used the al Qaida and other Islamic terrorists to destroy Libya as they are doing in Syria, Yemen and so on.

Therefore; they are approaching issayas not for the sake of Eritrea and Eritreans but themselves. They created Eritrea out of her more than 3000 years old mother Ethiopia just to affect Ethiopia economically and politically. Just watch the eastern part of Ethiopia bordering Eritrea and judge by yourself about the lies and injustice this people are doing for so long. It is designed by them to block Ethiopia from the sea drawing a narrow and stony piece of land parallel to the sea with more than 800 KM long where the Eritrean afar are living. It is 100 to block Ethiopia from the sea. There is no any historical, practical or juridical justification why that tiny piece of 800 km long land is became part of Eritrea without the knowledge of Eritreans and Ethiopians when it is looks like a fence between Ethiopia and the sea dividing the afar like a Berlin wall.

They are not welcome in Sudan. Kenya is woke up and started to feel they are not independent for real but still suffering under colonization making them losing their mind through corruption and division. Somalians will never ever accept them whether in Somaliland, punt land or other part of Somalia even if the country becomes free from terrorism. They are trying to destroy Ethiopia for years in the name of aid, NGO, Charities, democracy, election and privatization where except the few sold-out and brainwashed animals particularly some females, they are not getting what they are looking and they will never do knowing Ethiopia is the only nation they couldn’t manage to colonize despite they tried hard and for so long. This time also will not destroy us by targeting our youth, female population and spreading their inhuman values, norms and so on.

That is why they are now looking towards a dictator in Eritrea knowing only Dictators are their best allies and servants as we see in the ME. However, at the end they will kill him knowing he is getting old in order to put their own young puppet in power to serve them for generations. China and others being in the region and Africa is also their main headshake and they are looking any opportunity to affect that by affecting the nations that are having Good relation with China or anyone else other than serving them.

Ethiopians are writing about the issues concerning Ethiopia, the region and Africa is the best thing to do like this article is. Stop spreading the English establishment-Jewish media corporate agenda about your own country through copy and paste joke Journalism which is serving them.

  19. senay says:

Let the EU see where the mone goes and check if it is used well. Unless why are you cryiny fool. Do you think it is a failure to use the money in civil development ?
Why will you spend this much time to say too little. This is not an ethiopian issue , you can write about the coming election if you want. You people have n8 shame at all.

  20. Asefa says:

Granting aid to the dictator for life Issaiass is a fatal mistake and rewards bad behavior. Issaiass has invaded Yemen, Djibouti, And Ethiopia. In addition the dictator Issaiass supports Al Shabbab and other terrorist organizations in the Horn of Africa. The international community is wrong to try and engage with a belligerent dictator who believes in war first and dialogue as a last option. The arrogance of Issaiass also permeates through to the Eritrean people as well. The problem is that the Eritrean people have a false sense of their importance in the world. Simply put, the dictator Issaiass and his delusional people are completely divorced from reality when it comes to their regional and international importance!

  21. Ethiopiawiw says:

It is very intriguing to see the writer jumping from issue to another under the cover of scholars disappointment of resumption of “Cooperation between EU and the Government of Eritrea”.
Allow me to make it clear to the writer and with that to the readers as well that the government of Eritrea does not and will not accept any handouts like our government in Addis. To the contrary the Eritrean government is always negotiated and is pursuing the sole program that benefits the root of the population. Unlike the regime in my own country who runs right and left for hand outs the Eritrean government advocated for mutual benefit and cooperation. If the EU wants to impose any or partial political plan against the will of the GoE and or the people, understandably it will be rejected.
What is interesting here, without tangible help from any country the GoE was able to accomplish what most African countries are yet to reach even half of the accomplishment.
As the Canadian Ambassador to Eritrea said ” …….. Eritrea with its limited resources is able to build new schools, hospitals, Clinics, …..” he also continued on to say that is visible where ever you go.
If this kind of country is not to be selected as partner for progress then who?
I set my question to those who write blindly without redressing the core issue of the Eritro-Ethiopian, that is unfortunate, and wishing the bad and the ugly for the struggling people of Eritrea instead of wishing them the good and the best… when will you wake up from your quagmires and see the world in its true picture.

Ethiopia should learn a thing or two on how Eritrea kept their citizens strong without falling for mind and body deteriorating foreign cultures like abusing alcohol , cigarettes , khat and other drugs with an empty stomach. I almost died trying to reach Europe few years back. We lost numerous Ethiopians in the journey. I was in good shape when I started the journey. I suggest to anyone not to try to take this huge gamble on their life. 1 out of 5 are guaranteed to drown trying to reach Europe. in 2014 30,000 people drowned and died trying to reach Europe from Africa. If it is a must I suggest be prepared mentally and physically before starting the journey. Compared to us Ethiopians the Eritreans are in better shape physically. Most Ethiopians started the journey without any physical fitness training which is really wrong. People need to stop smoking , drinking , chewing khat atleast a year before they start their journey orelse they will not make it. Atleast most Eritreans recieve military training when they reach an adult age so they are better prepared than we Ethiopians. we Ethiopians are committing suicide trying to go through this journey with a weak and mal-nutritioned self. Eventhoguh Eritrea might be weak economically http://www.npr.org/2015/04/15/399937658/hundreds-of-african-migrants-feared-dead-after-boat-capsizes-in-mediterranean http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/04/15/migrants-drowned-mediterranean_n_7069442.html

  24. Sam says:

The writer of the above article has a point. Yes, it is difficult to imagine the ruling party in Eritrea will respond positively to EU’s financial assistance. On the other hand, what does the writer really want? Does he think if the EU withholds financial assistance the president of Eritrea and his party will just disappear? I do not think that will happen. Young Eritreans are fleeing their country in alarming numbers. Europe in the future might be unwilling to grant asylum for future Eritrean refugees. There is a solution. In fact, there is the best solution: doing something to change the regime. It seems to me it is only Eritreans who think opposing the regime necessarily means running away form ones birth place. Compared to the total number of Eritreans alive, the Eritrean refuges number is alarming. Only Eritreans could change that by changing their government. It becomes tiresome to hear Eritreans blame everybody except themselves for their misery.

i can’t believe the whole world is watching day after day the plight of this poor eritreans…all this misery is because of one dictator …one man…think about it…just one idiot …what is the americans or the whole world scared of..if they remove this imbecile….he is just one man…people…just remove him….

I think that everything said was very logical. But, think on this,
what if you wrote a catchier title? I ain’t suggesting your
information isn’t good, but what if you added a title to possibly get a person’s attention? I mean Are any policy changes visible in Eritrea?
Can an EU resumption of aid bring these about? – Awramba Times
is kinda boring. You might peek at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they create news titles to grab viewers to
click. You might try adding a video or a picture or two to grab readers
excited about what you’ve written. Just my opinion, it
might bring your posts a little livelier.
