Lots of respect to the great speaker. This is purely coming from the highest standard natural talent improved with continuous efforts which is the nature of the brave and smart individuals. Quality is not only related to products but everything associated with human activities including when we are communicating with each other not only in the highest level as the Minister is doing but also in any place, time and occasion is important using clear and clean language (as the great minister is doing) without poisoning the language and destroying the message with the far away foreign words or phrases.

As far as the Obama visit concern, it is nobody’s business but between Ethiopia and USA. Are you still reading, hearing or watching them giving attention how the hopeless and worthless enemies (including Diasporas) are crying about knowing crying or doing the way they are known with is the only power they do have and the only way they are making the living.

The criminal so called journalists such as from the Guardian, Reuters and others from UK and USA are painting anything bad, negative or wrong about Ethiopia for negative outcome doing as jobs and making the lavish living out of these kind trash activities. Only practical measures are stopping them while responding verbally for the crimes they are doing intentionally is what they do love and always looking giving them the feeling of they are somebody and the centre of attentions.

Learn how the Arabs, some other Africans and others around the world are treating and stopping these foreign criminals . They are evils and enemies number one deserve no what so ever respect or positive attention but treating them as the worst enemies have no norms and values at all. They are mentally sick and very dangerous to the world. They have nothing in common with us.

Ignoring is sometimes the best weapons to deal with the worthless as long as they are not in the country and they are not affecting the country in practical terms. If we really do care about the Image, then we have to deal first with the evil foreign journalists and different agencies including those are in Ethiopia.

However, the best weapon and the greatest benefit is not how others are thinking about us but what we are doing for us. Instead of relaying building the country image with talk and gossip activities including what others are thinking and talking about us, it is the only choice we have to do which is building the nation with modern development activities including creating huge harvests from the agriculture sector and quality and plenty manufacturing and industrial productions that are the only things making the real differences.

Yes, Ethiopia is the only African nation many head of states and high officials from around the world are frequently visiting her including for the last 10 years. Yet, we still are waiting the President of the great China and great Russia. These two nations are the greatest and the future; Ethiopia needs to have a very close multi dimensional and workable relationship based on respect and mutual benefit knowing they are the only best and reliable partners for the long term strategy allies in all aspects related to the foreign relationships.

He is well spoken person in every aspect. There is no doubt if the ignorant diaspora taxi drivers if the hate you, don’t blame them. Well said as usual.

  7. Dawit says:

This guy is amazing. Very mature. He reminds me of our late leader .

  8. Shalom says:

What a blessed tongue. Listening to Ato Redwan is a marvel. The only person I used to listen with the same level of interest was the Honorable late PM Meles Zenawi. This man talks a prose as if he is reading a beautiful poem. Keep up the good job. i know you have cristal clear understanding of the policies and the direction the country is pursuing. That is the core. But it takes a poetic, and a leader’s mind to communicate it the way you do.

The only thing you may need to do, probably a little bit difficult one, is that working on the English language. For an average Ethiopian, you’re doing amazingly great. But you can do much better given your high level language and communication aptitude. I’m not sure what you should do on that front, but I know you should exert all efforts.

The other person who is following suit, with probably great English speaking ability, is Getachew Reda. He is also a promising talent in the future leadership.

Generally, I’m very hopeful and elated about the futrue of my people and my nation. One day, God willing I will come and see you.

    May God bless Ethiopia.

This gentleman is intellectual in politics. You know Meles was smart only how to respond for any challenging’s. but he was insulting individuals and tribes with silly words. that’s why now affected the Ethiopian politics with hostility. specially affected between Amahar and Tigreans. but this person is always depend on Ethiopian/national/ interest with balance attitude, I wish to been on position from the beginning, good job on Ethiopianism
    God bless Ethiopia

Doesn’t it demolish the very democratic asset built so far through sacrifice of thousands of martyrs ?

No one but only the citizens are making or breaking anything related to our country. There is/are nothing else but the most valuable and everlasting natural resources are nice weather, fresh water and fertile soil. Ethiopia is one of the very few nations highly gifted with these fundamental natural wealth/resources. Our main if not the only weakness was us; the citizens.

However, the 21-century Ethiopians are no longer the same how they were in the past. They are already controlling their situations and shaping their destination knowing the naturally gifted Ethiopia is the best place to feel naturally free, get busy, work hard, achieve high results and make the best living. We are witnessing the proof of that right here in this video. The future is bright in Ethiopia.

Obama feel disappointeed .the strategies gone wrong .hailamariam a lonely man yet not free to work .he supposed to eligible. That is why USA endorsed their vote for the frist time out of their country. Wedy Sharman was announced
Now American desperate with this deaf ethnic hegemony. Their for Obama visit for the final negotiations even though it is a shame full historically.
Possibly Obama can cancel the visit if other alternatives available.

  14. Ahmed says:

Excellent and intelligent, I feel Ethiopian would move right direction if they allow to communicate openly and transparent way. Redwan is interpreting the new strategy that Ethiopia want to inject the country in the near future, what that mean is a new Ethiopian still excluding Ogden people? I didn’t see any activity that allow Ogaden people to became elite people and be party of new Ethiopian. as topic Obama would visit Ethiopia and Ethiopia need Obama for any way.

Very interesting expression with our brave speaker. We Ethiopians should unite and overwhelmingly exert all of our maximum efforts for the development and growth of our country. I am very confident that these miracle efforts and achievements will lead the country to its Renaissance. Poverty and backwardness will be abolished once and for all. Our renaissance is inevitable!! May God bless Ethiopia and its people!!!

  16. Tatek says:

As Addis Ababa braces for the historic visit of the President of the United States, freedom loving Americans in general and Ethiopian Americans in particular, expect the President to engage his Communist hosts in a delicate diplomatic dance, carefully watching himself not to get out of step. History has so far been so generous to this President, an occurrence that is so rare in politics. Despite massive odds against his electability to the highest office on earth ranging from Conservative charges that he was a Socialist or he was born in Kenya, to his childhood association with controversial Chicago pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, he managed to be another democratic comeback kid and became the only African American to win the White House, not just once but twice. No other voter block than African Americans could be praised for this historic outcome and the President is well aware of this. And it is transparently clear that nothing is more important to Ethiopian Americans, which constitute the significant number of his voters, than the successful transformation of Communist Ethiopia into a free society. Govt Communications Affairs Office Minister, Redwan Hussein, as usual tries to blast liberal media and Scholars stating that the President’s visit was an indication that Ethiopia has changed so much both economically and politically in the last two decades of repressive EPRDF rule, and the liberals’ assertions that Obama’s historic visit was no indication of the United States’ reward for Ethiopia’s rapid economic and political transformation appears to run counter the reality on the ground. Ethiopia’s Communist rulers desperately want the world to recognize that the East African nation’s growth has been sky high for the last two decades. What I personally saw for myself when I was there was that the country has been following Chinese model of ‘’State Capitalism’’ , where State-owned or State-affiliated companies used tax-payer money to dominate markets and advance strategic interests. The size of the Federal Govt, at 50 Ministerial posts, is the largest in Africa and this move, which was meant to reward political cronies rather than facilitating effective public service, was tightly holding money that should have gone to areas where the cash was most needed. Massive federal borrowing, estimated at more than Birr 300 Billion, was already sapping a significant chunk of the annual Federal Budget and was keeping pushing up interest rates and strictly tightening the money supply in the private sector, making it so hard for consumers and businesses to borrow the money they need to survive. This in turn creates a much broader inflation, with severe consequences for employment and social security. Steel-tight regulation and Govt red tape were stifling Ethiopian productivity, eliminating competition, and even evading personal privacy. Govt officials and employees I met at Treasury, National Bank and Foreign Ministry, where my research was mainly focused, all told me that they couldn’t wait to see the re-positioning of China as a global economic and Military power. But the fact appears that re-positioning of China as a global economic power required Beijing to be a global consumer, buying more and more goods and services from other countries, which unfortunately is going to take several years, perhaps decades of gradually raising wages, improving the safety net, expanding the middle class and raising the value of its currency. It is so clear that the President’s Communist hosts in Addis Ababa would tell him that while democracy might have worked so well in Europe and North America, it wasn’t actually at home in Africa. Similar to their Communist counterparts in China, Burma, North Korea and Cuba, Communists in Ethiopia might be under the illusion that clamping down on political expression and maintaining a tight grip on power would create some sense of security in a highly volatile region, but illusions fade fast while Ethiopians’ continued yearning for liberty keeps shining nonstop. Americans expect the President to tell his hosts that the United States stands by its firm belief that freedom is a grace granted to humanity by God and it is utterly wrong that it be taken away by anyone, including his totalitarian hosts at Arat kilo. On that chilly morning of January 20, 2009, President Obama had told rogue nations that the United States would ‘’extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist’’. But so far the dictators in Ethiopia had refused to unclench their fist and could be hoping that with the exponential proliferation of Al-Shabab extremists in Somalia, the United States and the international Community had a far more compelling interest in containing Somalia’s slide into oblivion and helping bring some semblance of order, peace and security to the Horn of Africa where Addis Ababa could be counted on to stand tall alongside the International community, but any talk of democracy and human rights in an already troubled region amounts to opening a ‘’can full of worms’’. But as we have seen in Afghanistan where America has been successful in wiping out Al-Qaeda and the Taliban with or without Pakistani support or consent, the United States can again defeat Al-Shabab with or without the help of Communist Ethiopia’s support. After all, Communism is no less an evil than terrorism and the President should make no amends for America’s interference in the Affairs of other nations when its interests are at stake and urge his hosts to change course or get ready to face the sharpest wrath of the United States. Americans also expect the President to mention and unequivocally make clear that the just concluded General Elections in Ethiopia which gave the ruling EPRDF 100% of the votes was one peculiar example of the regime’s deliberately selecting a ‘’fox to guard a henhouse’’, as the Govt understood its votes were in good hands when it put OPDO official and Cabinet Minister, Merga Bekana, in charge of the Electoral Board; with the regime-loyal fox expected to eat up all opposition votes as requested by his masters.

It is obvious to me that President Obama is determined to secure a legacy of concrete action on climate change and extending an olive branch to rogue States including Communist Ethiopia, while the mighty Republicans, beholden to big oil and NOT FOR SALE American values, are determined to reverse any forward progress —and I think the Conservatives have got it right here; and if the President’s extension of an olive branch to Communist EPRDF goes too far to the extent of fully displaying Obama’s continued infatuation with Communism, I see every reason for Ethiopian Americans to sign up en masse for the Jeb Bush campaign.

The human right violation in Ethiopia continue. I know Obama will be discussing with Ethiopian leaders about their dictatorship manor, abusive power and corruption behind the door. Obama will never come back without discussing about this. It is obvious as citizen, we put lots of pressure on our president that our tax money should not be given to dictators if Ethiopia continue jailing journalist and political opposition. More than 5000 Oromos are in jail. The violation of human right in Ethiopia is intense. The regime is creating Ruwand’s style politics where minority would face genocide. In 10 years what is going to happen to People from Tigray. They are already isolated by the vast majority.
