The nation’s recent policy shift will help Ethiopian Airlines to succeed more, says Group CEO of Ethiopian
Awramba Times (Addis Ababa) – The Chief executive officer of the Ethiopian Airlines, Tewelde Gebremariam, said the Ethiopian government’s recent decision to liberalize major state monopoly companies, including Ethiopian Airlines, will help his company to succeed more.
In his exclusive interview with the Awramba Times today, the CEO disclosed that Ethiopian Airlines is signing several shareholders agreement with multiple African Airline companies including with the government of Zambia to re-launch the Zambia Airways and the recent policy shift will have a pivotal role in facilitating the flow of trade and investment for the economic growth of the nation.
Last Tuesday, the government of Ethiopia has decided to liberalize major state monopoly companies such as the Ethiopian Airlines, Ethio Telecom, Ethiopian shipping Lines and Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation.
According to the statement, the shares of these companies will be offered to both local and foreign investors while the government remains to hold major shares.
