Dr. Zelalem, I can not agree more with your insight about the current politics of Ethiopia. How to come to an accord among us are the burning issues of our people. When I say people, I mean to say the differnt opposition parties and the rest of the Ethiopian communities both inside the country and outside the country. As you had indicated on your article, no clear visions are devices to lead the Ethiopian People. Squabbling & antagonizing among them takes most of center stage. They must accept each other difference and work to a common goal to bring Democracy.

They must learn to accept and respect each other differences and work to a common goal to bring Democracy to that country of ours. Differencies of oppionions are the building blocks for any changes in a society.

I think Dr Eshete put forward the begining of new road plan for the opposition and for the incumbent. It is very sad to see generation after generation bieng resistatnt to change themselves and the rigid political culture of my way or highway especially those who captured power under the barrel of the gun. More is expected from the opposition at home and abroad as they are even more older than the tplf or as cover eprdf because their struggle is dated back to students movement in 60s. It does not matter whether throwing away the current regim or not the struggle the persistence, the sacrifice the generation pays pays off until yhey hold up the truth. The ethiopian people deserve better leadership. Unfortunately for many reasons that coud not happen but does not mean it is dead wish. One day the ethiopian men women, children and all citizen breathes with freedom that he feels not what others tell. Dr Eshete is one of my fevourite writter because i see in his writting the wisdom, patience, far sightedness with goals, believing in process, determination, learning about accomodation, working with others even not a friend. If any one who is active in ethiopian politics at present really helpful to take time and see the whole situation in this country where everyone is expressing the good wish for this country but in a disarry way which is non productive even sometimes danger pausing. I believe ethiopia has and had generous children who put their life in the line when it is about their country ethiopia. so why do we not kind to listen to each other work together not to change ethiopia but ourselves first. Oppositions must not only change the govenment peacefully or in any means the first thing is doing what benefit the country and themselves as organization to be the real voice of the people of ethiopia then it will be the very simple business for the people to avoid anyone or anything threaten his right. So let both sides learn before it is too late or before too much lose interms of life, time, resource especially MORAL MORAL MORAL MORAL MORAL MORAL MORAL MORAL.
Thank you Dr Eshete and all ethiopians who have good wishes and dreams to my and our country Ethiopia.

    dear readers

Zealalem paradigm shift is really a shift. 1. call for peaceful political struggle although not new it is the remaining commodity in the political market place.2. call for unity of political parties is not bad , but one needs to have political parties with constituency. One has to make difference between big personalities and parties which are agencies of a certain social group.3.on the role of the diaspora. most of them are Ethiopian patriots who understand their role .there are few who tried to use their resources negatively be it their knowledge or money. to participate in politics it is their right if they pay tax.this is my humble on the article

The real democracy thing is going to be achieved by giving the proper chance to the Cheetah generation(the young) instead of always relying on the HIPPO generation which is(the older) for guidance. The hippo generation sees things in black and white while the cheetah generation sees the other colors in the middle too besides the black and white . There are a lot of Welaway hippo people who do not take a stand in this struggle.Without a stand whether you are Woyane which is after the democracy image or opposition after the chance to get power both are the same. So far the road towards democracy in Ethiopia had been filled with drama after drama which is bleeding the country’s people and debt badly. The only opposition to keep it real that I remember of might be Professor Asrat Woldeyes and Lencho Letta.I say let us get young leaders from the cheetah generation who are like them. The rest oppositions I know of so far are afraid while trying to act like they are not afraid being just like fiction actors in the drama/theatre. IF THEY ARE AFRAID THEY SHOULD ADMIT IT AND GIVE THE CHANCE TO WHOEVER IS DETERMINED TO GET REAL DEMOCRACY. The cheetah generation tries once and do not repeat trying so let us make sure the one time try is a good one.
