I mate Abe in london and get a chance to talk to him for half an hour. with in the conversation you can see a person inside him ready to sell any thing even his mother to get money.

i felt sorry for him i told him you might did that while you are back home now you are free you can work and make money and speak and write what you real feeling you don’t need to sell your self for money.

but the way i see it he put a target for himself to be like tamagne and the likes to leave with collection money with out working and a day by talking anything that will bring money.

So will see how much he will succeed with his plan i say to him good luck.

Free media for ethiopian is only being a puppets for goverment or the opposition. ..
Can any body tell me one free ethiopian media trusted by all?
With us or against us policy is all followed
ESAT will be our future ETV..
Etv says all is good in ethiopia and
    Esat says all is bad
And the rest of the repuplica of those two..
Dave you started new thing so carry on.

    • The Truth says:

      Dear Mr. Challa,

I think you don’t really understand what free media means. In my view free media means free and independent from government control. It is not mean free and every thing. Media and jornalists should be free and independent as a professional from government contol and show their profssional integrity as far as possible for what they do. But that does not still mean within the professional independence perspective they don’t support either goverment or opposition(s) in one way or another. Each media is and will serve a segmented market, not the whole market to survive economically and will present issues liked by(energizes)its segmented market to exist in the market for long. If it wants to be general only no market for it. It can achieve this still being reasonablly independent and looking for acurate evidences and a sort of investigative journalism.

  6. TesfaSinqu says:

We seem to see the day break by realizing that we are at odds with reality by being simpetizers of either the EPRDF or the Opposition.

We are living in a country where it is a basic right to think and express our opinion freely. Let us not be under duress, and act likewise.

Freedom starts by freeing oneself from ill spirited thoughts and deeds.

Keep up with the time and free yourself !!!

  9. T.Goshu says:

Let me say first that I am sincerely happy with Wosenseged’s response because I still believe that any person is entitled to express his views in any way he or she understands and feels . Is it good to do so without going to inumerating a very emotionall and repeatitave “literature ?” Yes, it is ! Unfortunately enough, Wosenseged’s response sounds well-dramatized and highly personalized . Any way, be it helpful for constractive conversation or other wise, I strongly want to beleive that our exchange of views is something to be taken as a natural process of engagement especially to most of us who are the products and parts of a society that is in the process of trying hard to minimize if not subsatantially reduce the culture of focsing on personal characters instead of the subject we want to deal with.
I really did not get it why Wosenseged as a professional and experieinced journalist chose to respond not by highlighting my points of comment and attacking them accordingly instead of simply pouring unnecessarliy and extremely redundent ( yeqalat gagata ) such as gusing my firtst name, activist, sim ena gibir leyeqil hone enji, tagai, yefereng aef, eris bersu yemitares, theatren mayet, maleqia yelelew atekaro, azenkugn/azenkulachew, aferkugn/aferkulachew, geremegn, menzelazel, yastezazebal, awaqinet ayedelm, meksses ena mewukes and etc. Well, I am not saying that Wosenseged should have made his points of view the way I believe it should be . What I am tryiig to say is that that is not the way we have to engage ourselves in a constructive and healthy arguement. I did comment on his piece of writing not to undermine his personality or profession. I did express how I sensed and understood him and to get his response to whether I misundestood or mispercieved his reflection, not to declare that I am right but he is wrong. That was as simple as that! I was expecting him to engage and challenge my view by refering my own pionts of comment ,not simply by a whole lots of hgihly jargonized words/expresssions that have nothing to do with convincable and teachable exchange of views and ideas. And I do not want to say I am sorry about his inflamably emotional and very poor way of expression ; but I want to say that I hope we all of work hard to control our rage/inflamable anger that is the greatest enemies of our rational and constructive conversations.
    Dear Wondwosen,
    1. I am not an activist .I am just an ordinary citizen of Ethiopia who strongly believe in expressing my views and critics and learning by engaging in any conversation of common issues and intersts.

    2. I try to express myself with a foriegn language not because I am not able to do it in Amaharic or I consider English as a sign of being civilized, or I feel ashamed of myself. It is because I am very poor in using Amaharic alphabets on an English key borad. Even if the way you expressed your prejudgement sounds part of your emotional repulse, I appreciate it and I will try my best. But I do not think I should remain silent untill I get it!

3.I do not know how you want to give me a title of “tagai.” If it meant to be against unbearable sufferings going on in our counrty, so be it!!
    4. I do not think you should worry about my first name because it has nothing to do with the issue we want to deal with. If you want to know exactly what and who I am, no problem .Just Let me know! But I have to tell you that I am one of ordinary Ethiopians who genuinely not simply aspire but try to do what they can do!

Take it easy ! And have a great time buddy!!

Finnally, I sincerely to say to you that you should feel neither ashamed, disappointed, sad/sorry, or any other kind of bitterness about those genuinely concerned Ethiopians including myself who try to express their concerns/comments with a strong conviction that argements and counter-arguemnets or conversations and coumter-conversations (no matter they might be right or wrong) are so desirable.

      • Dawit ( Down Under ) says:

The issue is what Abe took out of context (cut and paste )what Dawit Kebede said in the interview with Aba mela. He only mentioned ” LIK NEH ” without telling the reader what he really said or meant afterwards. This is what is known us scoring cheap points . What is the difference between what he did and what he has recently tried to show us by cutting and pasting in his “EPRDF HARAKAT”.There is no difference between ETVs “Jihadawe HARAKAT” and Abe’s “EPRDFs HARAKAT” as both are based on cherry picking ( cut and paste ). Abe has clearly shown us that he is an expert on that.In a free country he has been living Abe should have had more freedom; ironically,It sounds like Abe has sold his freedom to his new ESAST masters.

        • Dawit ( Down Under ) says:

          To the Editor !

Could you please correct the 5th word on the 11th line ( It should be written/read as “Ironically” not “onically”.)I hope you are gonna correct the word before you post it.

          Tnx heaps

    • Yederg Lij says:

T.Goshu as always, first you seemed to respect wessenseged’s writing as it is his own right, but as you go down, you contradicted yourself!

from your own writting, I can see you have a lot to learn about free speech & democracy!

I personally know that, you guys wont to listen your own echoes!we have read your articles for years now! It should have been between either supporting Wessenseged or the other party! Mr T.Goshu, either stay in your hate politics listening to your own echoes or get out of hate & nonsense politics & use your natural senses that God has given you,so you can communicate properly! Being better is for oneself! we can only live one time!
Let freedom ring in the diaspora opposition! no matter what you are our own citizen! it is so sad you guys stay in a hate politics for so long wasting your own time; which should have used for the sake of Ethiopia!

  10. Ehio says:

This what we have been waiting for, Dawit and Wosen pls keep up the good job. Dawit pls try reach out the socity with more media (Radio would be great), you will be amazed how much the society is feed-up with ESAT’s and the like propaganda.

Wosen and T.Goshu I like the way u guys are putting thing together, however I think u guys are a bit off track pls stop criticizing each other and focus of the greater picture Ethiopia and Ethiopian, The diaspora needs to be saved from venom that the so cold opposition actives (snakes) are spreading. With a bit more effort I think you guys have a good ego and potential to direct the society to the right path. GOD SPEED

  11. Ahmed says:

Wosenseged and T.goshu, instead of exchanging tit for tat Just do something for the betterment of religious freedom as well as for the democratization of the nation.

    • Yederg Lij says:

Ahmed, there is religious freedom in Ethiopia, but Ethiopia should never allow anti Ethiopia puppets trained by Arab countries, especially Egypt! listen to what the Egyptian guys is saying on the right column,is it acceptable to you? if you say yes, then you can only be with Ethiopia or anti Ethiopia! you are acting as if there is no religious freedom! you can only trick yourself!

  12. alemu says:

It is not surprising to see the little war between these two individuals. In Ethiopia, starting form the government to ordinary individuals, it is a unthinkable to criticize anyone for any reason. we are overly sensitive for criticism. It is in our culture and it will take generations to changed it. I think, this is the major reason why we are lagging behind, this is what drags Ethiopia backward. Everyone thinks the know better and dare to criticize or to tell them they are wrong. Hope one day we will learn how to tolerate each other and listen each other.
    God bless!!!

  13. Yederg Lij says:

There is nothing free in our world at all! there will be free media ,if journalists can follow journalism ethics! as far as I’m concerned, the so called journalists are about money, but nothing else! Jounalists should have taught the people on how to democratize, use free speech…instead of fabricating NEWS,& preaching hate politics!

Awramba, Ethiopian journalists aren’t free on what they cover, therefore, I think you guys need to free yourselves before trying to bring freedom to Ethiopia! If one isn’t free, I don’t think it is appropriate to preach democracy & freedom,If you don’t have ,then you can’t give!

you guys are just trying to cheat us with our eyes open! so sad!

You guys are talking about Muslims in Ethiopia, but you didn’t put the video evidence from the gov’t! Is this how free speech means?

  14. Amir says:

Abe Tokichaw has made a mistake. Dawit kebeden asalfo kesete le betesebum aymelesem

  15. dubale says:

    To Abe Tokichew:
i wrote this comment in your blog, but i doubt if you can post it…

“Abe are you under duress? I am sensing something like that. U have started ‘cut and twist’ the meaning or you do not understand the whole theme of Dawit’s interview. Dave is a free person. This should be the first thing to do as ‘freedom fighter’. First u must make yourself free. Abe to be honest i am loosing the freedom that you had before. Besides be reasonable and logical when you oppose to something. You can’t oppose anything for the sake of opposing. you guys[medias] have responsibility to to tell/analyses the real picture of a situation. Unfortunately what i have been witnessing in the Diaspora is otherwise. You are creating your own fantasy world. you write and talk based on illusions. Come on…you need to come to your sense. what is the point of shouting on medias for BIG NOTHING. You have created your own Ethiopia which doesn’t exist on our planet. It is really pity to see this!
At least you were in Ethiopia[the real one]…why do not u try to reflect the real situation?? The cumulative effect of the opposition in the Diaspora is only to lengthen EPRDF’s life.
anyways…it is funny that you do not know which Ethiopia is and what Ethiopians want….
If you see the whole Ethiopia by putting on Gojam’s eye glass…it is madness. U need to focus on the common interest of all Ethiopians. It is nonsense to focus on controversial issues such as the flag. it is a retarded idea. Go and ask Somalis, Afars, oromos, etc if they prefer the old flag. No…not at all. We need to avoid focusing on such controversial issues. Besides u must face the real situation. Ethiopia today has semi autonomous regions. what happens in Addis does not affect Tigray or Amhara regions.
    Please let’s face the reality!.
Do not mess with Dave!…he is free and he is the only one reflecting the reality….Bravo dave.”

Thank you for participating in our exchanges of views!
.Would you please ratinally and constructively tell me what “futile” means and its relevance to my opinion?
. Are you serious that you want see me stopping expressing what I fell and believe? If you are serious that people should stop expressing themselves , I have to tell you we are in state of very serious dillama .
. Dawit, do not simply tell to stop . Please show me or challenge my arguement and I am truly ready to learn.

Take it easy buddy! We (you and I) will get it right through these kinds of difficult and sometimes harsh conversations. Do not afraid it! It is a challenging but a necessary process. That is how you and I can make good progress in the having critical but healthy culture of conversation.

    Have a good one buddy!

  18. Kebede says:

I guess, Mr. Wosenseged may have escaped the journalism 101 class when his teacher attempted to define journalism. or …his teacher may have defined journalism as ” reporting (cutting and pasting)any thing that may even hurt the public (the mass) or producing “WERAE” or materials for public consumption” in his presence.

Well, Mr. Chiro Adare may have also escaped his ETHICS class where his friends had learnt about “Conflict of Interest”.

Any way, many of us in the Diaspora have tired of sensationalism and cut and paste jornalsim intended to make money from google adsense fees.

The Chiro Adaris including those in Ethiopia are not different from the political groups that the Chiro Adares try to put the blame on.

The Diaspora is not homogeneous ….therefore the Chiro Adarsi need to learn to address their issues using the catagorization they learn from the Ethiopian masters….
