Awramba Times (Addis Ababa) – Junedin Sado, Ethiopia’s high profile official and former Minister of Civil Service has defected.

According to Ethiochanel, a pro-government private newspaper based in Addis Ababa, Junedin Sado is seeking asylum in neighboring Kenya.

Ethiopian authorities have charged Junedin Sado’s wife, Habiba Mohamed, with terrorism for using money from the Saudi Arabian Embassy to pay for Islamic protests against the government.

In the aftermath of Habiba’s arrest, Junedin published a letter on Ethiochannel newspaper defending his wife and criticizing the federal prosecutor’s charges. Last December, Awramba Times has reported about the Ethiopian parliament’s plan to waive the immunity of Junedin Sado.

Since 2001, Jundein Sado has served on various key positions of the government including as president of the Oromia Region , Minister of Transport and Communication and Minister of Civil Service.

I fully respect your decision. You will be definately disappointed by the mistreatment of the Ethiopian government. Please put the anger away and be a principled man you used to be.
Never and ever engage yourself in the politics of the oppostion camp. I kindly requested you to give a minute attention what had happened to Negasso, Gebru, seye and you name them. But if you do it otherwise, you are degrading the traditional oromo value and it means you failed to reach the level of being conscious of your own identiy. Still the problem and the solution are at your province.
Never invite unrestrained irrationality of Daispora politics and the point is the cure is worse than the symptom.

I wish all the best in your future endavour

    • This person had ridiculed the country and the people for years. He would have continued to do so had it not been for his wife imprisonment and the consequences that followed. What dignity are we talking about here? Same for the others mentioned in the opposition list. They are in the opposition why? We all now why. It is because they are thrown out of TPLF! Like Sado, they would have continued to serve the dictator if they had not been fired. However, Dr Negaso is the only official who resigned as he has the guts to say NO to dictatorship and being a puppet of TPLF. He stayed in the country, continued his movement for what he believes is a good cause. He doesn’t defect or escape to the US. He remained in the country! What we need is people like him, with integrity, dignity, conscience and with the guts to say NO to dictatorship, stay with te people and continue peaceful struggle for democray! I can’t digest the fact he is listed with the others.
      Long live Ethiopia

what he and his wife were planning was a plot that was very dangerous to the local Ethiopians.

    • But no officail confirmation of the news. But Junedy Sado lost his wife to the Tyrant Dictator Weyane. Sado committed so many crime during his stay in Ethiopia. He gave green light to Weyane to chase oout 300 oromo student from AAU. He came to power in fake and rigged election after defeated in the election 2005. He made big gab between Christian and Muslim Oromo. He is responsible for the burning of churches in Arsi and Kofle neer Shashmnee. He classified the the Amara people in oromiya as traits and enemy. He designed fake education curriculum with out skilled man power, reference books and facilities in Oromia teachers college given by Afan oromo (All subjects in Afan oromo). All students in the College heavily relay on 20 pages written manual by by teachers for each subject(Science ,mathematics, Social Science)By his work two generations were graduated with out capable knowledge. In turn they killed hundred thousand elementary and junior school students. At the end he lost his children and wife to bloody Weyane. Weyane deliberately chase him to Kenya to further imprisoned many oromos and Junedy affiliates . For Weyane having him in prison is a political crisis. Rather Weyane prefers to hunting many Oromos in to prison in the name of him. This is mathematical calculation

  2. I am not sure if this news is true but I wrongly expected Jundin to pick himself up from the mess he put himself in. Many real and disciplined EPRDF members did it before, best example is Kuma Demeksa. Now it appears Sada is a totally lost cause. Welcome to the desperate group of refugee politicians.

  3. I still find it embarrassing to send your wife to receive 3,000 USD from Saudi Embassy (Ethiopia’s no enemy). He deserved the sacking. Now that he is in Kenya, the only way he can make a living is to claim he is OLF so that the likes of LEETTAA and TAMMAGNN BEEYEENEE can contribute.

I was not surprised with the exile of Obo Juneidin Sado who has fallen from grace because he defended his wife in private paper. According to the tradition of EPRDF, it is a taboo to come to your own sense and express your feelings like any other human being. Those who spoke their mind like former President Negasso Gidada and TPLF’s beloved son Siye Abreha have paid dear price although they have succeeded in maintaining their integrity.
As far as I am concerned, no OPDO person has served EPRDF with all intents and purposes like Jundein Sado. The fate that has befallen on him by no means is going to be different for any other OPDO or ANDM members (both high and low ranking officials) as such.
It is just a matter of time before all others face the same consequence. Being EPRDF official is not a rewarding job.

What do you mean defected guys ? He was on news earlier, & he was fired from his position!

Anyways, we know the nature of the diaspora journalists who concentrate on “Bere welede” NEWS instead of being truthful!

  8. Jundi Sado had been the enemy of sabbonna oromos.
He became very bad example to Arsi ormos or Arsi intelecuals who happen to be ” Hoddam Oromos”

Oromos will never excuse him for his long time contribution of oromo miser.
He is now thron away of positions he used to stick to.
That might be a good lesons for all OPDOS of Today.

I do believe it was very wrong for very high ranking official to engage in a trivial money begging from Arab devils. However,I do not believe this man has anything to do with terrorism. Whatever he did, he has done it out of ignorance according to my opinion; we know Ethiopians love begging alms from foreigners, he is not different from the begging habit of Ethiopians in general. It is the culture of Ethiopians for seeking alms from foreigners. It is not his fault. If he admitted he must have been reinstated to his position than throwing him like Condom. This is ugly to be honest. One spends his prime life serving a party and get thrown like this. I am upset about this. He should not be refugee. My heart is broken for him. When will EPRDF treat its servants with dignity and honour. I suggest even now the Government to come to its senses and offer him an olive branch to return home. I do not want him to be refugee after all these services to his country. We are all human and we are subject to make mistakes. Injustice is an injustice no matter who does it. Do not rob people their dignity because of one or two mistakes, please if it is true.Do not be cruel to each other. Ethiopia is a very rich country and it is only we have poor mind that we are poor. Do not beg alms from Arabs or anyone. The Arabs are messing us our country indirectly. Can chase all the Arabs from Ethiopia? please do, you have been giving them land for free to Arabs.

It is Déjà vu 1975-76 but this time it is heading south. It was Eritrean then and now it is persons with Oromo ethnicity. 1975-76 had shown us faces of all the Bereket’s suddenly becoming rabid supporter of Shaebia and overnight convert in trashing the Derg. Hey Minnesota! Here I come and make a space for Junedin. He is that ‘big gun’ I and millions others were told for years. He better stop by the ‘Temple’ his contemporaries had done before him, Asmara. Since he left the country, his Wahabi later day saints may have no immediate use of him. Here is a man who used to be a zealot puppet of Meles and who trashed any opposition. This is a lesson for those fat ass boot lickers. There is no job security in a lion’s den. I also bet you that right now he is being ravaged by a withdrawal effect for his khat addiction. Poor buy!!! On the other hand, I am enjoying this whole theatrics.

  12. Ethiopian government former high profile official Junedine Sado used to work behind the bars with the arab league member country diplomats & their islamic state leaders secretly in addis ababa & abroad.

He served both OPDO/EPRDF based on TPLF’s criteria as a high profiled loyal politician & for arabic/islamic countries/states long term agenda/interest towards ethiopia, the spread of islam/revival of islamic faith/values/ law/administration to be implemented in ethiopia.

Junedine Sado is recognised as a hero, a martyr, a trust worthy muslim insider sacrificing himself & his family for islamic cause. His loyal work for TPLF (he don’t care about Oromo, ethiopia, all other non islamic related TPLF agenda that are implemented & will be replaced based on Islamic way).

From his TPLFiet’s loyalty, benefited his islamic/arabic peers agenda & secrecy.

He’ll be the future President/Prime Mister of the Islamic Republic of Ethiopia.

I remember Junedin saying “Oromo bilo kristiyan yelem” in a big gathering while he was president of Oromiya. Like many said, Obboo Juneidin was actually serving as “shekh” or “Uustaaz” or “Mullah” of the Salafists in Ethiopia. He never cared for anything except his fundamentalist terrorizing ideology. I am guessing he left as more was probably found from the investigation.
Mr. Junedin, this is the outcome of your own making. face the music now.

  18. Ato Junedin put himself down when he let his wife take money from the Saudi Embassy for a construction of a musque illegally. He was heavily criticised in the oPDO meeting, and he was de-throned from his posistion both in the federal and Oromia region. I expected him to ask apology, and keep being member of EPRDF, but now I wish him good luck.

As for EPRDF, it will get a substitution for him in OPDO sooner, and it will keep leading Ethiopia in the right direction. Every time there is a death or defection of someone, EPRDF gets stronger. The last 10-15 years have given us enough lesson.

    God bless Ethiopia!

  20. Defected or run away? He realsised eventually that has no future in the ethnically-devided Ethiopia. You call someone ‘defected’ if he is still an active offical in the regimes structure – he had been tossed out a couple of mnths ago and his status was reduced to zero – I am sorry for him because he lost his ‘special’ status due to his attempt to realise his moms dream – to build a mosque on her grave yard. That was the woyane minister. Who call him ‘defected’? anyways?
