mengistu lemma the son of the renowned scholar aleka lemma was one of the towering literal figures of our country. his knowledge in both of amharic and geez was unparalleled. through his poem he always challenged our thinking and shaped our imagination. through his poetry he is telling us that the expectation of our people from its scholars is one and one only. i.e practical solution to its basic needs.on the other hand a considerable part of ethiopian scholars are wasting their time in solving their imaginary problem rather than the real one. in this regard professors al mariam and messsay kebede can be good examples. instead of philosophizing life and society just give us a simple practical solution like the current government does.
